چکیده
The aim of this study was to evaluate post-operative range motion stifle joints in dogs affected with medial patellar luxation order compare two surgical techniques: trochlear wedge recession vs. block recession. done 67 from 54 small breed (21 Mini-Pinschers, 16 Chihuahuas, 11 Pomeranians and 6 Yorkshire terriers). From these, 31 underwent surgery the other 36: surgery. In surgery, groove deepening by removal a V-shaped wedge, whereas recession, rectangular. Block is suggested provide deeper wider trochlea preservation major part articular cartilage. results that both trochleoplasty techniques resulted reduction joint improvement limb alignment at first month.

Patellar luxation is the result of progressive structural abnormalities in the soft and/or skeletal tissues of the dog’s pelvic limbs. There is an alteration of the patella-trochlear groove interaction with negative effects on the stifle stability and extensor mechanism integrity, on the trochlear articular cartilage nutrition and the adequate trochlear depth and length development and maintena...

The purpose of this study was to compare a trochlear block recession to a rotating dome trochleoplasty, a novel technique for the correction of patellar luxation in small animals. Twenty-eight limbs were used from 14 feline cadavers. With the stifles in flexion and extension, computed tomography was utilized to compare width and depth of the trochlea, medial trochlear ridge height, trochlear ar...

OBJECTIVE To assess signalment, outcomes, and complications for dogs surgically treated for medial patellar luxation (MPL) with a combination of lateral retinacular imbrication and tibial crest transposition procedures without femoral trochlear groove deepening techniques, and to determine whether osteoarthritis progressed in these patients during the 8-week period following surgery. DESIGN R...
متن کاملCorrection of patellar luxation by recession sulcoplasty in three foals.
Lateral luxation of the patella in four femoropatellar joints of three foals was repaired by recession sulcoplasty and medial imbrication of the joint. One foal was euthanatized because of septic arthritis caused by incisional dehiscence, and the other two foals were normal 2 years after surgery. Recession sulcoplasty combined with medial imbrication of the joint capsule resulted in a functiona...
متن کاملLesions in canine stifle joints due to trochleoplasties as treatment for medial patellar luxation.
Lesions in canine stifle joints after previous trochleoplasty surgery were documented. In four clinical cases arthrotomies were performed due to stifle pain after previous trochlear deepening procedures. A small area of hyaline cartilage remained in the groove of the stifles in cases where previous wedge trochleoplasties had been performed. All of the stifles had significant areas of eburnation...
